Resources

The BLADE/Opioid Coalition invites community members/agencies to advance collaborative, community-based work through a funding opportunity that will impact one or more of the following strategies:


1. Prevention - Secondary Prevention Focused on Children and Families. Expand capacity of programs targeting families impacted by substance use disorder with a focus on increasing reunification rates and safe placement options; provide focused education and outreach for children in foster care whose primary reason for placement is parental substance use. (8.15)

2. Prevention - School Education and Training. Funding and support for schools to be trained on implementation of purchased curriculum such as Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), Healthy Positive Outcomes, Substance Use Disorders, and Positive Community Norms; Integrate targeted outreach within existing school departments focused on high-risk priority groups and vulnerable families. (7.96)

3. Justice System-Based Treatment and Recovery. Integration and strengthening of substance use disorder, mental health and primary care services and treatments throughout the criminal justice system. (7.95)

4. Justice System - Post Incarceration Programs. Improve post-release programming for community integration; continued care and transition services for individuals after release; Increase and improve assistance to re-entering the workforce. (7.91)

5. Harm Reduction - Family Support Services. Support services for children and families affected by substance use disorders, including training for professionals such as teachers, law enforcement, and others. (7.82)

6. Treatment and Recovery - Parental Substance Abuse. Expansion of child supportive services for individuals seeking outpatient treatment; create inpatient opportunities that are supportive environments for individuals and children. (8.10)
