Crow Wing County Public Health Nurses offer no-cost home visits to support families during pregnancy, postpartum, and the early years of a child’s life. Reasons for home visits vary by family, but all focus on family success and provide counseling, education, support, and resources.
Examples of topics discussed during home visits include:
- Lactation counseling and infant feeding support
- Nutrition education
- Infant weight checks after hospital discharge
- Caregiver mental health and wellbeing
- Child growth and development
- Parenting support
- Pregnancy and childbirth education
- Care coordination for families who have children with special health care needs
