Money

Each inmate is set up with a trust account allowing them to use their own funds to purchase items such as snacks, hygiene products, stamps, writing materials, phone cards and other necessities while they are incarcerated. Commissary orders will be processed on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Canteen will be delivered on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Money can be added to an inmate's trust account as follows:

  • By mail via money order or cashier check made payable to the inmate. The jail is not responsible for cash mailed to inmates.
  • In person via the lobby kiosk. The lobby kiosk accepts cash and credit cards and is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The jail lobby also has an ATM for your convenience.
  • Online via a credit card through Inmate Canteen

Posting bail money on an inmate's bail account may be paid online or in person:

  • Posting bail (up to $1,000) online is paid on Inmate Canteen.
  • Posting cash bail can be paid at Court Administration - 213 Laurel St, Suite 11, Brainerd or at the kiosk in the jail lobby.

***Note: Inmate Canteen charges a transaction fee when using a debit or credit card. Please refer to Inmate Canteen for more information.
