Water Event Permit
Minnesota State Statute 86B.121 Races, Competitions and Exhibitions requires all events, such as races, tournaments or other competitions to obtain a permit from the Sheriff's Office in the county in which the event is being held.
The Water Event Permit application is required to be completed and submitted to the Sheriff's Office along with payment of the fee in order for a permit to be issued.
Water Structure Permit
Minnesota State Statute 6110.1800 Placement of Temporary Structures and Buoys in the Waters of the State requires all temporary structures left in the water between the hours of sunset and sunrise to obtain a permit from the Sheriff's Office in the county in which the structure will be located. This would include temporary signs as well.
The Water Structure Permit application is required to be completed and submitted to the Sheriff's Office along with payment of the fee in order for a permit to be issued.
Slalom Course Permit
A regulation length slalom course is normally over 800 feet long and has a significant impact on the public use of a large area of water. There are regulations intended to minimize and mitigate such impact. Please read the Water Surface Use Ordinance prior to completing an application for a slalom course.
The Slalom Course Permit application is required to be completed and submitted to the Sheriff's Office along with payment of the fee in order for a permit to be issued.
