The Crow Wing County Board of Commissioners will take public comment on the desirability of updating the Comprehensive Development Plan for the FAD, which was last updated in 1997, on June 14, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. in the County Board Room on the third floor of the Historic Courthouse at 326 Laurel St. in Brainerd, MN. Components of the plan under consideration are Agriculture, Forestry, Recreational, Commercial, and Residential development and transportation plans for future growth occurring within the FAD. Defining these preferred growth spaces and preferred conservation spaces will help guide development initiatives to areas of the FAD where they would be most compatible with adjacent land uses. The plan would also be used to guide the County Board in determining any appropriate zoning controls that would be applied within the FAD, such as zoning districts, preferred commercial development areas, quality and types of residential plats within the FAD, road specifications for development, and so on. Written comments may also be submitted to the County Administrator’s Office at 326 Laurel St., Suite 13, Brainerd, MN 56401 up until the time of the public comment meeting.
