The contract to perform tree clearing and stump removal on County State Aid Highway (CSAH) 36, between CSAH 37 and CR 114 southeast of Crosslake, has been completed. This work was done in anticipation of a reconstruction project to occur in 2015.
Throughout the area, brush and branches were mulched and left on the ground to provide erosion control throughout the remainder of the winter and specifically into the spring. Some of this material is larger than average mulch and could create a concern to snowmobile and ATV users in the area. If and when snow ever decides to fall (it will) we ask that snowmobilers stay on the groomed and signed trail system through the CSAH 36 corridor for safety reasons.
Bids on the 2015 reconstruction will be received in late February or early March, with construction proposed to begin as soon as weather conditions allow. For more information on this or any other projects and roadways, feel free to contact the County Highway Department at (218) 824-1110 or visit the website: http://www.crowwing.us
