The Crow Wing County Highway Department will be closed in observance of Memorial Day on Monday, May 27, 2019. Crews are available and will respond to road emergencies. County maintenance crews will continue crack sealing CR 124 in Baylake Township Tuesday. Contracted crack sealing crews will continue/begin crack sealing CR 121 and CSAH 45 in Daggett Brook and St. Mathis Townships and CSAH 29 in Nisswa throughout the week. County maintenance crews will be replacing roadway culverts on CR 105 Tuesday, CR 106 Wednesday and CSAH 36 & 1 Thursday. Traffic delays are expected and alternative routes are suggested to avoid these roads. Maintenance crews will be working in the drive lane and on the shoulders simultaneously, creating the need to close one or more lanes of traffic. Signing, flaggers or portable traffic lights will control the traffic flow through these work areas. County maintenance crews will be patching potholes on various county roads throughout the week. Crews will be pulling over and stopping frequently on the shoulders of the roads, to perform the patching work. Loose patching material debris may be present. Motor graders will smooth gravel roads throughout the county. Motorists should watch for the slow moving graders when traveling on gravel county and FAD roads. Contracted gravel dust control is scheduled to begin Thursday on gravel roads in the southern end of the county and work their way north over the next few weeks. Road limit weight restrictions are in effect until Tuesday, May 28, 2019 for CR 105, CR 106, CR 141, SAD roads and CSAH 36, east of Hwy 6 due to sub-soil saturation and frost boils. All maintenance work is weather sensitive and is subject to delay or change. |
