County maintenance
crews will continue brush and tree removal in the road right of ways on County
Road (CR) 159, in Oak Lawn Township between North Nelson Road and State Highway
18 and on County State Aid Highway (CSAH) 18, in Nisswa and Lake Edward
Township between CSAH 4 and TH 371.
Chipping of the
smaller brush, cutting and placing larger trees at the back of the road right
of way for property owners will take place at all three sites.
County maintenance
crews may be working on one travel lane and shoulder simultaneously, creating
the need to close one lane of traffic. Signing, flaggers or portable traffic
lights will control the traffic flow through these work areas.
County maintenance
crews will be patching potholes on various county roads throughout the week.
Crews will be pulling over and stopping frequently on the shoulders of the
roads, to perform the patching work. Loose patching material debris may be
present.
Spring roadway
sweeping will continue on many roads throughout Crow Wing County.
Spring weight
limits are in effect on all Crow Wing County roads. The restrictions are in
effect to reduce roadway damage from heavy trucks during the spring thaw.
County snowplows
are ready and on standby in the event of significant rain or snowfall in Crow
Wing County. The Highway Department anticipates plowing on Monday, April 9,
2018.
All maintenance
work is weather sensitive and is subject to delay or change.
