The painting of the pavement markings on county roads will begin April 30, 2012 and is expected to be completed by May 11, 2012. The annual pavement marking contract involves over 1,000,000 lineal feet of white edge line paint and over 1,000,000 lineal feet of yellow centerline paint on various county roads. Once placed, the paint dries within ten minutes under normal conditions. Traffic is reminded to be patient when a striping operation is encountered and not to drive over the freshly painted pavement markings. Cones are placed to warn traffic during painting operations and the paint truck is clearly marked with the appropriate warning devices.
