Welcome to Crow Wing County Elections. Our office administers federal, state and county elections for all jurisdictions in the county and offers assistance and support for cities, townships and school districts in conducting elections. 

March Township Elections March 10, 2026

The following townships will hold elections: Bay Lake Township (4-8 p.m.), Center Township (4-8 p.m.), Crow Wing Township (2-8 p.m.), Daggett Brook Township, Fairfield Township, Fort Ripley Township, Ideal Township (5-8 p.m.), Maple Grove Township (4-8 p.m.), Rabbit Lake Township (5-8 p.m.), and Roosevelt Township (5-8 p.m.). 

Absentee voting for these townships will start February 6, 2026. Please reach out to your town clerk for more information on requesting an absentee ballot. The town halls will be open for Absentee voting on Saturday, March 7, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to noon. 

Precinct Caucuses will be held February 3, 2026.

Vote early in person or by mail

You can vote before the election with an absentee ballot at the Crow Wing County Historical Courthouse (located at 326 Laurel Street in Brainerd). If you are not registered, you can do that when you vote if you show proof of residence.  

Absentee ballots are sent out to those that have an absentee ballot application on file who wish to have their ballot mailed to them. Absentee ballots are sent out 46 days prior to any election or once the application is received and approved.  

Primary Election: Tuesday, August 11

First day to vote early in person: Friday, June 26

Last day to vote early in person: Monday, August 10

General Election: Tuesday, November 3

First day to vote early in person: Friday, September 18

Last day to vote early in person: Monday, November 2

The Crow Wing County Historical Courthouse (located at 326 Laurel Street in Brainerd) will be open for early voting:

Before the state general election, these additional hours are also required:

• The day before Election Day until 5 p.m.
• The last Saturday before Election Day (9 a.m. — 3 p.m.)
• The Tuesday before Election Day until 7 p.m.
• The second to last Saturday before Election Day (9 a.m. — 3 p.m.)
• The last Sunday before Election Day (9 a.m. — 3 p.m.)

These additional hours do not apply to school districts holding standalone elections. 

Vote by mail-

Residents can apply for an absentee ballot by filling out the application found here Vote by mail- Vote by mail- Vote by mail- Vote by mail- Vote by mail-. You can also call the elections office to request a ballot application at 218-824-1051. The completed application can be mailed or delivered to Crow Wing County Elections, 326 Laurel Street, Suite 22, Brainerd, MN 56401. You can also email elections@crowwing.gov. Once received and approved, your ballot will be mailed out within 2 business days. Absentee ballots must be received by 5:00 p.m. on election day. 

Vote in-person on Election Day-

Mail ballot precincts will have to vote in person on August 11th and November 3rd or by early in person or absentee voting.
